Project: “Seeds of Hope!!”

The Great East Japan Earthquake struck Japan in 2011. As efforts to support recovery spread throughout Japan, we, as a seed company, thought of how we could be of any help. Ultimately, we decided to launch a project called “Seeds of Hope!!” Every year from 2011 to the present, we have distributed sunflower seeds to volunteer groups interested in planting flowers. From 2017, we expanded the scope of our activities and began distributing seeds to disaster-stricken areas and volunteer groups nationwide. Also, from 2021, we began distributing seeds to groups seeking to energize their region amidst the spread of Covid-19.

We want to cheer up Japan through sunflowers that bloom vibrant yellow flowers. Sakata Seed Corporation will continue to drive “Seeds of Hope!!” project.
