Supporting South African Communities During the Harsh Lockdown of Covid-19
The spread of Covid-19 has seriously impacted the entire world. The virus has also caused many problems in South Africa, including an economic crisis and job loss. For many years, Sakata Seed Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd. (hereinafter, “SAF”) has been involved in numerous community projects such as food, education, agriculture, and financial training. Even during the pandemic, we distributed masks and hand disinfectants to protect business partners and their employees. We also purchased vegetables from local producers and distributed those vegetables to the community near our company. In addition to providing food to needy individuals, these activities contributed to sales by local producers. Furthermore, we provided vegetable seeds for food supply projects in various regions. These projects create and manage vegetable gardens within the community and nourish people in the community. They also teach local residents about food production and vegetable production techniques.
