Basic Approach

Under the management philosophy of "Mutual Harmony," SAKATA Group believes that "environmental conservation of the Earth," including addressing climate change, is among our key values. Based on the following policy, we are committed to contributing to the realization of sustainable agriculture and horticulture.

    Compliance with Laws and Regulations
    Sakata Seed Corporation and its affiliated companies (hereinafter referred to as “SAKATA Group”) comply with international declarations and treaties related to environmental conservation, as well as the environmental laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which we operate.
    Response to Climate Change
    SAKATA Group strives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by improving energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy.
    Conservation and Protection of Biodiversity
    SAKATA Group aims to coexist with nature that supports our business activities and promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
    Conservation of Water Resources
    SAKATA Group promotes the efficient use of water resources and ensures the proper management and treatment of wastewater.
    Soil Conservation
    SAKATA Group works to maintain and manage healthy soil environments through appropriate land use and soil improvement.
    Reduction of Environmental Impact
    SAKATA Group strives to reduce environmental impact through the research and development of environmentally friendly varieties, products, and services.
    Recycling
    SAKATA Group promotes the efficient use of raw materials and resources and ensures proper waste management to promote recycling.

  2. Training and Education

    SAKATA Group raises environmental awareness by disseminating this policy to all officers and employees of the Group and by providing appropriate training and education. 

  3. Governance

    This policy has been approved by the Board of Directors of Sakata Seed Corporation. The President and Representative Director is responsible for its implementation. The Board of Directors monitors compliance and implementation of group environmental policy, sets environmental targets, and conducts regular reviews to ensure continuous improvement. 

  4. Information Disclosure

    SAKATA Group discloses relevant information about its environmental initiatives and progress toward environmental targets to promote transparency.
